Employers
      Temp to Hire            
   Through the Vermont Association of Business, Industry & Rehabilitation (VABIR), employers have the opportunity to evaluate employees via an independent staffing agency. These candidates have received assistance with career exploration and training in work skills. Employers have the opportunity to assess a potential employee before placing them on their permanent payrolls. The employer agrees to provide an environment conducive to a successful employment trial including appropriate training and explanation of job responsibilities and to pay wages to the staffing agency. The employer also agrees to hire these trial participants after six weeks if the participant is able to fulfill the job responsibilities. VABIR pays all peripheral costs such as FICA, unemployment and taxes. Post-employment supports including weekly follow-up and assessment of progress are also provided.
