CVS Morrisville Partners With the Morrisville Workforce Development Team to Host Cash Register Training
Morrisville, VT – Danielle Salant, Manager, CVS Morrisville and Lee Ashby, Shift Supervisor recently partnered with the Morrisville Workforce Development Team to host Cash Register Training, designed to support community members to learn about Point of Sale systems used in the workplace. Candidates were referred to the training by Creative Workforce Solutions (CWS) member employment programs and other partners. Each participant spent a morning at CVS observing and practicing a range of common POS transactions, directed by Danielle, Lee and other CVS team members.
In addition, the participants took part in a Customer Service Workshop provided by Travis Quetel, ReSOURCE. The workshop focused on the customer service experience and ways to successfully engage customers in a positive way.
“Partnering with businesses to allow candidates to train on the job and experience what it may be like to work at a business is a very effective way to support individuals to build skills and obtain employment. Danielle, Lee and the CVS Morrisville team have been great partners since coming to Morrisville in 2015. We really appreciate the opportunity to work with them,” explained DJ Masi, Business Account Manager, Creative Workforce Solutions, Morrisville.
The Morrisville Workforce Development Team is a collaborative group, working to identify opportunities to build short term, focused, apprenticeship style training, in partnership with local businesses. It is comprised of representatives from VocRehab Vermont, the CWS Morrisville employment team, the Vermont Department of Labor, the Economic Services Division, CCV, GMTCC, Central VT Adult Basic Education, ReSOURCE, VSAC and Capstone Community Action.
